«You have thought about it, you have imagined it in great details, you have chosen it and you are determined to do everything you can to get it. Your vision is so clear you can almost smell it, hear it, touch it. You are ready, you want it more than anything… But WHY hasn’t it manifested itself yet?
The “it” I’m referring to can be anything. Maybe, for you, it’s a baby, a job, a lover, a big break… In any case, the thing is: this planet is not one of those where we instantly get what we desire (I know such planets exist. «...let's face it: nobody wants to feel frustrated or unfulfilled. We ALL aspire to dive into a turquoise ocean, to play with dolphins, to discover buried treasures and to be surrounded by the most spectacular corals. This desire, this need, is written somewhere in our heart, in our DNA. «...when things don't flow as well as they could, we tend to blame ourselves. We presume we just need to work harder, and we keep bumping more and more aggressively into the same ol' wall. No wonder we are not successful (or fulfilled, for that matter)! It certainly is very hard to perform when we feel uncomfortable, out of our element ... And if we feel uncomfortable in a situation, or in a certain aspect of our life, it often is because it doesn't “fit” us. «...the way I see things, motivation is akin to the sap that runs in the tree: it keeps the tree alive—in fact, it's essential to it—but it's useless if the tree (our objective) is rooted in poor, unhealthy ground. It's not our motivation that makes the objective real, it's the other way around: when our goals are healthy, the drive to take action flows naturally. When our goals are unhealthy, we have to push ourselves all along the path to success, and we don't even feel like celebrating when we do get there....»
